Our massage therapists strive to empower you, giving you the confidence to regain your physical abilities in order to live the lifestyle you love through massage therapy.

They combine therapeutic massage therapy techniques, education and mobility exercises to safely and effectively treat your concerns. You will get an individualized treatment plan centred around your specific goals. This will help to identify what your current capabilities are and allow our therapists to work with you to get you to where you want to be.

This complementary and thoughtful method of treatment allows for more effective collaboration and care from the entire MOVE Physiotherapy team.

Kylie is originally from the small town of L’Anse au Loup in Newfoundland and Labrador. She graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Bachelor of Education, and after a short time teaching, she went on to pursue a Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University!

Since graduation she has completed continuing education in various areas including concussion management and her Acupuncture Canada Certification in Dry Needling.

Throughout her undergraduate degrees Kylie worked with varsity athletes providing sideline coverage as a student athletic trainer while also helping coach athletes of various ages in a variety of sports. She has continued with this passion as a physiotherapist, including covering volleyball provincials & nationals and most recently the North American Indigenous Games as part of the Host Medical team! As a physiotherapist Kylie has worked with a variety of patients including athletes, veterans, along with individuals who are recovering from workplace injury & motor vehicle accidents.

Kylie is passionate about helping patients achieve their personal goals through individualized treatment plans. She places a high value on patient education and uses tools from her education background to support her patients with individual learning styles, to ensure they feel informed about their care.

Her treatment plans include education, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise programs as well as and pain-relief modalities. She is a firm believer in lifelong learning and in the coming year she plans to continue taking courses to broaden her knowledge and skill set including working towards her Sports Physiotherapy Certificate. She is currently one of the Athletic Trainers for the U18 Major Halifax McDonalds Hockey Club!

Maia grew up on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Drawn to healthcare and rehabilitation, she graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy, with honors. In school, she learned Traditional Swedish Massage techniques, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy as well as Cupping and Hydrotherapy Modalities.

Maia enjoys working with athletes of every level and has worked as an athletic trainer for various hockey, volleyball and soccer clubs. Including the South Shore Mustangs (U18 Major) and South Shore Lumberjacks (Junior A), and was part of the Host Medical Team for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games. She’s currently the Athletic Trainer for the U15 Major Bedford Bandits Hockey Club!

She creates individualized treatment plans for all patients to get them back to doing the things they love. When not in the clinic Maia enjoys being by the ocean, swimming laps in the pool and spending time with friends and family.

Ghislain grew up in Bathurst, NB and went on to complete his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at the Université de Moncton in 2010. He then completed his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Ottawa in 2012. Most recently, Ghislain was successful in passing and obtaining his Certificate in Sport Physiotherapy, from Sport Physiotherapy Canada. He is now one of only 18 physiotherapists to have obtained this distinguished qualification in Nova Scotia.

As he is fluent in both English and French, Ghislain is able to serve you in either language.

Since graduating, Ghislain has worked in various settings including private practice, inpatients, critical care, cardiorespiratory and orthopaedics. Over the years, Ghislain has developed a strong interest in vestibular rehabilitation and sport physiotherapy. He has taken extensive post-graduate training in vestibular rehabilitation, exercise prescription, taping, sport physiotherapy and prevention of running injuries. He is currently a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Sport and Orthopedic Divisions.

Ghislain’s passion for sport physiotherapy began during his two seasons as a student therapist for the Université de Moncton men’s soccer team. Since then, he has covered many sporting events at a local, provincial and national level including hockey, soccer, track and field, figure skating, football. He was also part of the medical team for a Nitro Circus event. Ghislain has worked with the St. Stephen Aces Junior A hockey team, the KV Kings Bantam AAA Major team, Hockey NB U15 Program, Hockey High Performance Program, the U16 AAA Admirals and the St. Margaret’s Bay Rebels Junior Lacrosse Team. He is currently the medical trainer for the U16 AAA Martello Buccaneers.

Ghislain was selected as part of the Sponsored Medical Team for the 2022 Canada Summer Games and worked the 2023 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) as part of the Host Medical Team!

Outside of the clinic, Ghislain tries to stay active. He enjoys playing hockey and snowboarding in the winter time. During the summer, you will likely find Ghislain on a mountain biking trail or a golf course.

Amanda grew up in Porters Lake, NS. She is a double alumni of Dalhousie University completing both her BSc. in Kinesiology and MSc. in Physiotherapy.

Amanda has volunteered as an athletic trainer for multiple sporting events and has been the athletic trainer for the NS U15 Major Gulls since 2017. Most recently she was part of the Host Medical Team for the North American Indigenous Games! 

Amanda uses an individualized approach to rehabilitation, selecting from various evidence-based techniques to support her patients. She has post-graduate training in orthopaedic physiotherapy, K-taping, and is a certified Sport First Responder.

Mitchell is a two-time graduate of Dalhousie University, where he obtained his Masters in Physiotherapy. He has taken extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy, sport therapy & taping, exercise prescription, acupuncture and dry needling.

He has obtained the highest sport physiotherapy qualification in Canada, the Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy. He is one of only 11 physiotherapists in Atlantic Canada to obtain this qualification. He also holds the globally recognized title of Registered International Sport Physical Therapist. Upon graduation from Physiotherapy school, Mitchell was awarded the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association’s Leadership Award, and eventually the NSPAs New Graduate of the year, a few years into practice.

He has been the Sport Physiotherapist for the Halifax McDonalds U18 Major hockey team since 2013. Mitchell has also worked with Hockey Nova Scotia’s High-Performance Program, St. Margert’s Bay Rebels Junior Lacrosse, the Senior Men’s Soccer teams for Halifax City & Western Halifax FC, and the CPA Allen High School Football team. He was the lead therapist for the EastCoast IceJam hockey tournament from 2015 – 2021 and was selected as part of the host medical team for the 2017, 2022 & 2023 Canada Games. Attending the 2017 Games in Winnipeg. He was also most recently a part of the Host Medical Team for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games!

He is a past board member of Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Association and was on the executive for the Nova Scotia Section of Sport Physiotherapy Canada from 2014-2021, eventually holding the position of Chair. Mitchell is an advocate for living a healthy, active lifestyle and takes great pride in helping his patients achieve their movement and performance goals. He believes a strong individualized plan involving; education, strengthening/mobility exercise, and manual therapy are integral in achieving these goals. Through his advanced background in sport/exercise & manual therapy training, he is able to create individualized treatment programs for the elite athlete, weekend warrior, and individuals looking to become and stay more physically active. Outside the clinic, he keeps active with resistance/cardio exercise, sport, and spending time with his kids.

Sydney holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from Acadia University, and then furthered her studies at the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy with Honours!

During her time at Acadia, she actively participated in research publication on Sport Related Concussions, dedicated her time to the development of children’s fine motor skills through volunteering, and provided personal training services at the Acadia Cardiac Rehab Program.

Throughout her time at CCMH, she pursued her passions for massage and sports, volunteering at numerous sporting events to offer sport massage services to athletes. Including most recently the North American Indigenous Games!

Sydney’s commitment to her profession is evident through her membership with the Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association and her ongoing efforts to meet all requirements to become a Certified Sport Massage Therapist.

Sydney strongly believes in empowering her clients through education, recognizing it as a fundamental step in fostering a physically active lifestyle. Her dedication lies in helping individuals regain their ability to perform everyday tasks, facilitating rehabilitation, and preventing future injuries. With her experience in various massage techniques, including Swedish massage, myofascial trigger point release, cupping massage, myofascial release, and sport massage, she is confident in her ability to help clients achieve their goals.
